Monday March 18, 2019 at 07:03 traffic 15 was dispatched to Interstate 80 at the 212 interchange to assist co 17 with traffic control for a rolled over dump truck. While on scene traffic 15 was involved in a near miss incident when a pickup truck hauling a cattle trailer blew thru a taper of cones set up in clear view on a straight stretch of highway. Traffic 15 had it emergency lights and arrow stick activated also along with multiple other warnings devices in place. Pennsylvania's "Move Over," or "Steer Clear" law requires drivers to slow down or, when possible, to move at least one lane away when encountering an emergency vehicle, traffic stop or disabled vehicle along the side of the road. Common sense is rare nowadays in this country

In the near miss defense, the sun made it almost impossible to see. I also didnt see anything until I was right up on it.

I drove by this incident and there was very little warning before it went to one lane. And it narrowed to one lane right at the exit merge point. I’m not in agreement with drivers barreling through, but in this situation, there should’ve been a better warning system and because of the crash location, a lane closure further away from exits and crash.

It’s a shame some people are idiots and need their drivers license revoked. Glad everyone is ok.

I was following a cattle truck thru State College today that couldn't stay on the road.

Oh so glad no one was hurt. Ppl need to freaking watch what they are doing!

Tuesday March 12, 2019 at 15:17 as units where clearing up from the tanker truck MVA Co’s 15 and 17 was dispatched to interstate 80 at the 215 west bound for a single vehicle auto accident with entrapment. Chief 1701 arrived to find a suv over the bridge and on its roof below with multiple patients self extricating. Rescue 17 and Micu 15 arrived and assisted the patients up the steep embankment. Engine 15 arrived and assisted with patient care and packaging. Units on scene Chiefs 1503 Derr, 1701 and 1702, Engine 15, Rescue’s 15 and 17, fire Police from 15 and 17, Micu’s 15 and 8, Ambulance 5, Medic 60 and PSP. Photos from multiple sources. ... While I appreciate what you do, I was at this scene. Myself and another couple stopped to help because we were right behind the accident. We got the two babies out and the child. We got them up the bank by the time you arrived. I kept sliding up the bank while carrying the kids. You might want to acknowledge others that willingly helped until you arrived.
