At 1743 the Milton Fire Department was dispatched to the alley between Turbot Avenue and Locust Streets for a garage fire. Chief 1502 arrived on scene to find a well involved garage in the alley east of Turbot Avenue with heavy fire impinging on a house. 1502 requested a second alarm. Chief 1501 arrived and established command. Engine 15-2 was heading to a public function when the call was dispatched and arrived on the scene with in minutes. Engine 15-2 laid a supply line from the hydrant at Locust Street and Turbot Avenue. The crew from Engine 15-2 pulled a 2 attack line and stretched to the front of the garage. Members knocked the bulk of the fire down and protected the exposure building as other units arrived on scene. Engine 15-1 laid an additional supply line on Park Ave. and their crew pulled a 1 34 attack line and helped Engine 15-2s crew extinguish any remaining fire and overhaul. Mutual aid crews from companies 5 9 and 2 assisted with overhaul and relieving the initial attack crews due to temperatures being in the mid 90s.
