At 00:37 Hrs The 15 House was dispatched to Vine St. in the borough for a reported house fire. Milton PD was on patrol when they smelled smoke and started looking for the source, finding it a short time later. PD advised UCES they had smoke showing from a house. UCES immediately dispatched a working fire box sending 2nd alarm units. Chiefs 1501 (Gaugler) and 1503 (Stump) arrived and confirmed a working fire still contained to the garage. Truck 15-1 arrived and started a primary search that came up negative. The Can Man (Bearce) proceeded to the breezeway to keep the fire in check if it breached the door. Engine 15-1 arrived second and pulled a 2" handline and prepared to make entry. Lieutenant 1513 (Lupo) and the engine crew pushed in just as the Outside Vent Man (Martin) was taking the window of the garage showing just how nice coordinated ventilation is. Lieutenant 1512 (Metzger) advised command that there was no extension into the attack area. The fire was marked under control within a few minutes after making entry. Company 15 remained on the scene for about 3 hours while the Fire Marshal investigated. Units on the scene: Truck, Engine, and Rescue 15-1, Engine 9-1 (Warrior Run), Engine 5-1 (White Deer Twp.), Engine 17-1 (Turbot Twp.), Rescue 3-1 (Mifflinburg) for RIT, and Rescue 2-1 (Lewisburg). Engines 741 (Point Twp.) and 9-2 (Shamokin Dam) transferred to station 15.
