At 16:30 Tanker and Engine 15 were dispatched to the 5000 block of Crossroads Drive in Kelly Township as part of a first alarm assignment to assist CO 5 with a barn fire. While Chief 1502 was responding CSR 911 advised that they were receiving multiple calls and asked if the full second alarm should be dispatched. Chief 1502 advised to dispatch the full second alarm. Chief 1502 arrived on scene to a working fire that was spreading rapidly. Chief 1502 then established Crossroads Drive command due to no Chiefs from Company 5 being on scene. Engine 3-3 was the first arriving engine and deployed multiple lines to protect exposures and start fire attack. Engine 15 was second in and set up a water supply with a dump tank operation to supply engine 3-3. Engine 15’s crew assisted 3-3 with pulling attack lines. Tanker 5 arrived shortly thereafter and used their deck gun to attempt to slow the fire spread. Engine 3 and Tower 3 setup operations on the western side of the structure and started fire attack from side A-D sides of the structure. Engines 2 and 9 established fill sites to refill the tankers. Company 15 had 20 members on the scene and at the station.
